House Team Information

  • Due to the unknown nature of individual sign ups, we cannot guarantee placement for indivdual sign ups but will do our best to place you/your child on a house team or we will reach out to the teams that signed up to see if the need any additonal player(s). Some ages are more popular than others when it comes to individual sign ups.
  • The fee to register for a house team is $95. House teams include 8 games, and 1-3 practices depending on availiblity. All players on a house team will receive a t-shirt to be worn for games as well.
  • If we are unable to form a house team and we are succesful in placing you on a team. Your cost will be different. Each team calculates their cost based on number or players but their fees do not include any practice time or t-shirts so the cost tends to be a little less
  • If you are interested in coaching a house team, please email Wade Schuemann - registration@soccerstopsportsplex.com
  • House teams are coached by volunteers or staff coaches. Due to the limited time with players, house team coaches' main focus is keeping players safe while also maintaining subsitutions to keep player time and positions played fair and even. On-field coaching is a secondary concern for them. House teams are typically made up of a beginner or less experienced players so we do our best to find a competitive placement for each team but can be difficult when size and age are taken into account.
  • House teams sometimes play in younger age group than they should due to competitive fit.

  • Individuals registering will be placed on a house team, or the Soccer Stop will make every effort possible to place that player on an existing team.
  • Balance is due by first game, unpaid balances will result in forfeiture and may result in removal from league. $50 LATE FEE WILL BE APPLIED TO ANY TEAM NOT PAYING THEIR BALANCE IN FULL ON THE DATE OF THEIR FIRST GAME.
  • Individual checks from team members will not be accepted. Team coordinator is responsible for submitting entire payment.
  • Roster/Waiver form must be completed in its entirety by the 2nd game.
  • When completed, schedules will be available online on the website. Coordinators will be emailed when they are finished.
  • Players may play in older division but no more than 2 years up, except for U15 playing U18.
  • Cleats and turf shoes are not allowed. Only flat-soled shoes may be worn on the turf. Players not in compliance will receive a yellow card.
  • Shinguards are required for all players in any youth league (U19/HS and younger). Players not in compliance wll receive a yellow card.

  • Coed teams must have 2 females as field players at all times. Goalkeepers do not count towards the 2 players.
  • High School age division (U-16 & U-19) must have minimum of 1 adult coach of at least 25 years of age present in player-box
  • High school divisions are restricted to high school players only. The only exception would be a U19 age player that is registered with their GVSA team of mostly high school players and playing with that GVSA team. The idea of the rule is to keep college players out of the high school leagues, with the exception of memebers of established teams.
  • Proof of age must be submitted upon request from Soccer Stop management.
  • If teams are wearing the same color, the team listed as "home" will be responsible for changing jerseys or wearing pennies.
  • Home team responsible for game ball. Soccer balls kicked or thrown outside of the field may be confiscated.
  • No gum chewing allowed in the facility.
  • Soccer Stop house teams (Designated by a SSS in their team name) are part of our developmental program and are managed outside of our league rules. They typically consist of a multitude of ages and we will put them in the best competitive fit for them. This may mean they have some players one age group older than the league they are playing in.
  • WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY: We rarely will close the Soccer Stop for winter weather. In the event weather is severe enough for us to cancel activities, we will leave a message on our voicemail that can be heard by calling 616-393-7768.

Generalized League Schedule

(subject to change, this only a tentative guide)

We've listed several days for each league to not box ourselves in, if your team is not available on one of the days listed, please send your scheduling requests to schedreq@soccerstopsporstplex.com, weekday slots will be determined for each league based on what works best for all teams. Youth typically plays mostly Saturdays with one consistent weekday, adults are mostly Sundays with one consistent weekday.

We reserve the right to adjust these age groups based on competitive fit. We strive to give every team the right competitive balance while still having the correct birth years in every age group. This can be difficult once players move into the middle school ages. We've found the school, or non club teams may have some "older" players that are in the correct grade but do not fall within the birth year. Due to competitive fit, sometimes division placements are adjusted. Contact registration@soccerstopsportsplex.com if you are unsure which division to register in.

You must register your team based on the oldest player.
